How Long Should I Hang My Pendant Light?

How long is a piece of string? The answer to this question totally depends on the space you're working with and the look you’re trying to create. No one wants to walk through a hallway and hit their head on an overly droopy pendant lamp, whereas everyone wants a long vampy pendant lamp hanging over their dining table spotlighting scrumptious home cooked meals.

When it comes to choosing the length to hang your pendant light, a certain level of common sense is required. Make sure you’re aware of how the space you’re decorating will be used - if you’re looking to light up a living room you gotta make sure you keep the length reasonable as people will be doing all sorts of activities in there, whereas the territory above a dining table is a safe space where you can assume no one’s gonna hit their head on a long, dangly pendant lamp (unless you throw a particularly raucous dinner party).

Another thing to consider is how many pendants you’re looking to bundle up on one fixture.
